Basim / Johnny

Johnny

Tell me, why they only bring you flowers when you're dead?
Can't move or get out of your bed
Man, that's kind of messed up
Yeah, that's really messed up

I met a man called Johnny in a hospice
My das was in his room 'cause he was more sick
But Johnny, yeah, he still had some more energy
He had some things he wanted to say to me
He said, "If there was only one thing I could redo
I'd put myself first before the p?ople
Rememb?red yourself, call love and sing
Don't give a damn 'bout what people think"

I cry and you're the only one who knows it
It took me all these years to compose it
On your light, I'll stay
I still remember you saying

Tell me, why they only bring you flowers when you're dead?
Can't move or get out of your bed
Man, that's kind of messed up (That's kind of messed up)
Yeah, that's really messed up (That's really messed up)
Tell me, why they only bring you flowers when you're dead?
Can't move or get out of your bed
Man, that's kind of messed up (That's kind of messed up)
Yeah, that's really messed up (That's really messed up)

Oh (Got it, got it, got it)
Ooh-oh (Got it, got it, got it)
Ooh-oh (Got it, got it, got it)
Ooh-oh (You got it, you got it, you got it)

People always brought him a round of whiskey
And to be honest, that is kinda risky
'Cause Johnny had an issue with alcohol
That nobody knew he had at all
Now he's gonna die but Johnny ain't afraid
He's waiting in line and we're all here to see
Johnny rest in piece and power
Under an ocean of flowers

I cry and you're the only one who knows it
It took me all these years to compose it
On your light, I'll stay
I still remember you saying

Tell me, why they only bring you flowers when you're dead?
Can't move or get out of your bed
Man, that's kind of messed up (That's kind of messed up)
Yeah, that's really messed up (That's really messed up)
Tell me, why they only bring you flowers when you're dead?
Can't move or get out of your bed
Man, that's kind of messed up (That's kind of messed up)
Yeah, that's really messed up (That's really messed up)

Oh (Got it, got it, got it)
Ooh-oh (Got it, got it, got it)
Ooh-oh (Got it, got it, got it)
Ooh-oh (You got it, you got it, you got it)
Oh (Got it, got it, got it)
Ooh-oh (Got it, got it, got it)
Ooh-oh (Got it, got it, got it)
Ooh-oh (You got it, you got it, you got it)
