Irland i Eurovision Song Contest 2025 - Hvem er EMMY?

Emmy Kristine Guttulsrud Kristiansen, bedre kendt bare som EMMY, blev født den 13. september 2000 i Sande i det østlige Norge. Som barn sang hun i kor. I 2015 deltog hun i MGPjr, børneversionen af Melodi Grand Prix, med "Aiaiaiai". Hun nåede superfinalen. Efter MGPjr optrådte hun ved koncerter over det østlige Norge og skrev flere sange, blandt andet "Bjørnar".

I 2021 deltog EMMY i Melodi Grand Prix med sin sang "Witch Woods". Hun kvalificerede sig fra den tredje semifinale til finalen, hvor hun ikke kvalificerede hun sig til superfinalen. I 2024 vendte hun tilbage til Melodi Grand Prix som sangskriver til sangen "Woman Show" af Mathilde SPZ feat. Chris Archer og Slam Dunk.

Udover sin sangskrivning begyndte EMMY at skrive på TikTok, hvor hun fik over en million følgere fra hele verden. I år var hun også sangskriver til "Ramtai" af Citi Zeni, som blev nummer tre i Supernova, den lettiske udtagelse til Eurovision.

EMMY blev udvalgt til at repræsentere Irland ved Eurovision Song Contest 2025 efter at have vundet EuroSong 2025. Hun blev nummer to hos den internationale jury og først hos både den irske jury og i den offentlige afstemning. Den internationale jury havde Samantha Mumba som favorit.

Den 23. januar blev EMMY annonceret som en af deltagerne i EuroSong 2025, Irlands nationale finale til Eurovision Song Contest 2025, med sangen "Leika Party", som er skrevet af Erlend Guttulsrud Kristiansen, Larissa Tormey, Truls Marius Aarra, Henrik Østlund og artisten selv. Sangen er inspireret af rumhunden Laika, den første hund, der blev sendt ud i rummet men tragisk døde under opsendelsen.

EMMY vandt EuroSong 2025 med "Leika Party", og blev dermed Irlands repræsentant ved den 69. udgave af Eurovision Song Contest i Basel.

EMMY og Irland optræder som nummer tre i første halvdel af den anden semifinale torsdag den 15. maj.
