Som 3-årig forelskede Eva Marija sig i violinen efter at have set Alexander Rybaks Eurovision-vindende Fairytale. Hun valgte en tværfaglig uddannelse på Luxembourg City Conservatoire, hvor hun studerede violin, sang, klaver og basguitar på tværs af genrer fra jazz og klassisk til pop/rock. Hun er født og opvokset i Luxembourg af slovenske forældre og er fortsat forbundet med begge kulturer. Hun har optrådt siden hun var 14 år og studerer i øjeblikket sangskrivning i London.
